Job Summary 

​

  • We are seeking a talented Backend Developer to join our team at Irish Taylor. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable server-side applications and APIs using Node.js and Express.js. 

  • The ideal candidate has strong expertise in backend development, database design, and API architecture, along with a passion for clean code, performance optimization, and modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities 

​

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Express.js  

  • Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices  

  • Design and optimize database schemas (MongoDB & SQL/MySQL) and migration  

  • Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices  

  • Optimize application performance through profiling, caching (e.g., Redis), and efficient queries 

  • Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services  

  • Work with XML / JSON data formats for integrations  

  • Collaborate with frontend developers to design, manage, and integrate APIs  

  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of backend systems  

  • Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards  

  • Work closely with DevOps teams for CI/CD pipelines and deployments  

  • Troubleshoot and debug production issues efficiently  

 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

​

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field  

  • Strong experience in Node.js and Express.js  

  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB and database design  

  • Proficiency in SQL / MySQL  

  • Strong understanding of REST API design and backend architecture  

  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles  

  • Familiarity with PHP (for legacy system support or integrations)  

  • Experience working with XML / JSON data formats  

  • Exposure to e-commerce or shopping cart systems is a plus  

  • Basic understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, cloud platforms)  

  • Experience with Git or other version control systems  

  • Experience in database migrations with data integrity and minimal downtime.

Preferred Skills 

​

  • Experience with microservices architecture  

  • Familiarity with Redis or caching strategies  

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)  

  • Knowledge of API security standards (JWT, OAuth)  

  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor)

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills  

  • Good communication and collaboration abilities  

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
